Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL)
The Cuyahoga County Public Library, with over 28 branches serving Northeast Ohio, is a staple of Cleveland’s literary and arts community. CCPL came to flourish with a challenge: extend momentum of their existing “Reconnect With Reading” campaign, and increase the circulation of physical books despite a shifting consumer preference of digital. flourish’s solution promoted “Reconnect With Reading” through the use of noted local celebrities, such as 2009 NBA Coach of the Year, Mike Brown, Standout NFL Cleveland Brown, Joshua Cribbs, and nationally-known “Iron Chef” Michael Symon, among others. The campaign also expanded on the success of CCPL’s ongoing use of noteworthy librarian, Nancy Pearl. The campaign was then promoted with a comprehensive multi-media campaign, including digital, which was new for CCPL.
- Reversed down-trend of book circulation to a 6% increase in borrowing
- Generated high level of awareness and “buzz” of Reconnect With Reading program, internally and externally
